A little history

Ahuntsic, located in the north of Montreal, is a neighborhood rich in history and character. Its name comes from the historical figure of the Jesuit missionary Nicholas of Germany, nicknamed “Ahuntsic.”

The district was founded in the 17th century and was for a long time agricultural land before becoming a residential area. Ahuntsic is known for its beautiful tree-lined streets, its heritage homes, and its community atmosphere.

Ahuntsic is the northernmost neighborhood in central island. It is bordered by the Rivière des Prairies. This district combines urban planning and nature conservation thanks to its multiple natural parks and its public transport system. From several stations, it is easy to get around Montreal and even Laval. You can therefore easily and quickly go to the Laval Science Center or go to downtown Montreal.
