A little history
The first written mention of Île des Soeurs was by Samuel de Champlain in 1603. At the time, it was known as Île Saint-Paul. The island was only accessible by car from 1962, thanks to the construction of the Champlain Bridge. Nuns’ Island began to be urbanized on a larger scale in 1967.
